Day after Thanksgiving

Yesterday was an amazing day. I spent it with my in-laws and soon-to-be new siblings. My soon-to-be niece and nephews were so cute yesterday my niece is 3 and my nephews are 11, 4, and 2. My niece walked up to me and asked "why is your tummy so big?" So I told her there was a baby in there, and then she asked me if I ate the baby haha. Love little minds. My niece then went up to my soon-to-be father-in-law (her grandpa) and asked him why his tummy was so big. It was so cute. He told and re-told the story all night.

My soon-to-be brother-in-law, T took the oldest nephew J out shopping with him so that J could get the game he wanted for Christmas.

Then, we took all the grandkids (the 4 little ones) over to grandma & grandpa's house for a slumber party, so that my soon-to-be sister-in-laws, T & J & I could go black friday shopping together. We went to Old Navy, Kohls and Target. Everything was fine and wonderful shopping wise, until I got to target and got trapped in their U shaped blockade of clothing racks and almost wet their floor. (Note to stores everywhere: don't block the store off from the bathrooms, pregnant women will be likely to pee).

Got up this morning and was so sore. I thought that I'd experienced soreness from being a competitive cheerleader and doing our workout circuits but this is worse than anything else I've ever experienced. My feet were so sore, walking felt like I was stepping on a bed of needles. And getting out of bed or off the couch was almost impossible. (Note to pregnant women everywhere: rest a lot if you are going black friday shopping, and plan to take tylenol to ease the pain along with a warm bath and lots of resting the next day).

Good news

I went into the doctor on Tuesday to have my 3 hr glucose test done because I had failed my 1 hr test. Well this time around the drink was twice as sweet, however this one was thicker than the last one. I was able to drink the 1 hr test drink in under a minute and in one tip back of the head, however this time around it took me almost the whole 5 minutes to drink it because it was like drinking cough syrup.

While I was waiting for my blood to be drawn 3 times an hour apart, I had an appointment to see my doctor. He wasn't concerned about the pelvic pressure since we found the cause to be a bladder infection and a UTI. If no problems arise, I will not see him again for another 4 weeks, and then depending on what he says it will be either every 2 weeks or every 4 weeks.

I passed my 3 hr glucose test. After waiting 3 hours to finish the test, I was ready to eat. Baby girl and I were both starving so glad that I packed a sandwich and apples so I could eat as soon as I had my last blood draw.

My wedding dress was delivered today and I love it. I am so excited to get married to the love of my life. I only hope my baby girl stays put until after our nuptials which will be 4 short weeks before her due date.

I found out today what day my soon to be hubby gets to come home for pre-deployment leave and I am so excited because depending on how far apart my appointments are he'll either get to go to one with me or three with me.

Labor and Delivery visit

Disclaimer: Baby and I are both fine.

I called my clinic today because I had severe pelvic pressure that was so unbearable that I thought I was in labor. I could not move without pain. My clinic sent me to labor and delivery. I went in and had tests run and baby was tracked for 2 hours. I was not in labor thank heavens however the pressure was being caused by a bladder infection and UTI. I was given medicine to treat both and was sent home with the instruction to be on light bed rest until I could get in to see my OB.

First Thursday of November

So far my day today has been baking. I made 60 cupcakes, and over 55 marzipan bees for the cupcakes and another 6 marzipan bees for the beehive cake. There are many memories for me surrounding baking, and I plan to make memories like the ones I've made with my kids.

Day 7 of Thankful November
I am thankful for all of the animals in my life. Whether it was my first ever pet (my beta fish, Elizabeth) , or the many pets I've had ranging from fish to hamsters to cats and dogs. I have also had the experience to be around horses, which are 6 times bigger than my largest pet. All of the animals in my life have touched my heart and left a lasting impression.

The cleanup after the baby shower

Today has been full of cleaning, dishes, and putting things back the way they were before the Baby Shower. Its hard to see how much work is involved in things like this, and it is so much fun that all the work is worth it in the end.

I had the amazing task of taking apart the diaper cake, haha. I can now see why they are so funny for everyone but the person whose task it is to make them and take them apart. However, I can now say that now I know how to make one, and I might just make one for the next family member or friend to have a baby.

I have so much left over food that I'll probably be eating the baby shower food for the next week or so. haha. The cake from yesterday went untouched because there were so many cupcakes, oops.

I did have a chance to write out my thank you cards, so I can get them in the mail tomorrow. (No post on Sunday). I am glad that I have extra thank you's, in case, baby receives more gifts between now and when she arrives.

As soon as I can tomorrow, I plan on going in and printing out pictures, so I can complete Baby Kathleen's scrap book for the baby shower pages.

I do have to meet up with my aunt Z sometime soon, because she has the rest of my baby guest book, inadvertently it went home with her. I plan to take it to the hospital with me for people to sign and fill out when they come to visit us.

Day 10 of Thankful November
I am thankful for my godchildren. I am lucky enough to be blessed with 3 wonderful godchildren. Matthew who is 4 years old, Katelyn who is 2 years old, and Arianna who turned a year old November 1st. They are all amazing individuals, and I am lucky to be able to call myself their godmom.

Baby shower day

I had such a great day today, I had so many family members and friends in my house today I can't believe it.
We played baby games, had a gift stealing thing, and a lot of fun. :)  My aunty made me a diaper case, and helped to decorate the house. My mom and I put together all the food, and the cake and cupcakes.

I loved having so many friends and family members around. It truly is amazing how much love comes out when a baby comes into the world, or someone gets married. I am so glad to know that she will be so loved and cared for.

Day 9 of Thankful November
I am thankful for my cheer family. I have made many friends for life and people that have become like family. I am so thankful to them, they have become a part of my family just like the ones born into the family.

Friday of chaos

Early to rise this morning, however not early to bed. Much more cooking and baking have happened today. Also a lot more errands to pick up the rest of the food items (fruits, vegetables, and breads).

The cake looks wonderful, just have to apply the final layer of frosting tomorrow. My fridge is currently full of trays of meat & cheese, lunch meat, 2 veggie trays, and a bowl of fruit.

Last few things to be accomplished tomorrow before the party at 1 pm, are to frost the cupcakes, apply all the marzipan bumble bees, and pull everything out and finish setting up.

So excited for the party tomorrow. :)  Wishing a few people could be present which are unfortunately unavailable or out of the state. Looking forward to seeing so many friends and family members in one place.

Day 8 of Thankful November
I am thankful for all of my achievements and the people that have always pushed me. I have accomplished a lot in my short life, and I have achieved a lot in my short 21 years of life, but they aren't the average achievements. When my mom was 4 months pregnant with me, she went into early labor with me because I wanted to be here already. Thankfully the doctors stopped her labor until she was 8.5 months pregnant with me when I was born, so I was 6 weeks early. Despite being a preemie, I have escaped the many complications that come from being born early. I was raised by a single mom and have achieved a lot because of my mom's and my grandma's constant encouragement. I'm sure there are more achievements, but those are the few that are most important to me.

Day of Wonderfulness minus the snow

I truly love snow, but I am not ready for winter yet. I was definitely enjoying the cool fall weather, but now it's covered in snow which makes me sad.

After a little over a week with no contact from my hunny, it was amazing to hear his voice. I truly miss him and cannot wait for him to be back on base so that I can skype with him and talk to him whenever I can.

Today was a productive day. My mom and I spent almost 3 hours shopping for things for my baby shower on Saturday. :)  My mom and my Aunt Z are putting it all together for me, and I couldn't be more grateful for everything they both do for me. All of the serving platters, plates, cups, silverware, almost all the food, and prizes for the games (even though I have no idea what they games are). So excited for everything to come together on Saturday.

I discovered Marzipan (needed for a baking project) is one of the hardest baking items to find now days because apparently it's a "seasonal" item and it's not a necessity item. So I was almost forced to go to a specialty store to find it, however, a couple of helpful workers were nice enough to look for me, and even check in the back for me.

Tomorrow is going to be a cooking day. I have 2 cakes to bake because we are slicing them up to make a beehive cake, and close to 30 cupcakes. I also am going to be making Marzipan bumble bees because each cupcake will have one, and then the beehive will have a few.

Baby note:
My little princess loves to use her mommy as a punching bag. However, as soon as I play the voicemail of her daddy singing to her, she instantly stills and calms down (which is huge since he hasn't been around since we got pregnant, hehe). I'm glad she is getting used to his voice, and I plan to play it while he's deployed (after she gets here) so she will know her daddy's voice.

Day 6 of Thankful November
I am thankful for all of life's challenges. Life might have been difficult at some points in time, however each challenge has made me a better, stronger individual. So I am thankful for all of the challenges that have faced me and those around me because they have taught me how to be strong and stand up for what I believe in. So to everyone that said I couldn't because I was a baby to a teen mom, or a single mom, or because I was a preemie, or because I was a girl, was too dumb, was too much a cheerleader, and much more. Thank you because you are the people that I look back on and say look at how far I have come.

First Tuesday of November

This morning and early afternoon was full of errands and running around. I think I am officially not to lift anything over 25 pounds anymore. I tried to lift my puppy's food from the shelf to the cart, and couldn't manage it. So I think I am officially off heavy lifting duty.

It started snowing today. :( I was hoping it would hold off until after my baby shower this weekend. Oh well, I guess it means warmer beverages for this weekend. :)

I have no idea what is planned for my approaching baby shower, but I'm excited to be around so many of my family and friends. It seems that there are more and more reasons for the family to get together. I am so excited for all of the approaching family fun, I just wish I could travel to be apart of everything.

My soon-to-be sister-in-law is getting married December 21st. Her and her fiance are perfect for one another, and are so adorable together. :)  My hunny and I are getting married January 4th. :) It's going to be a small wedding, immediate family and close family friends. Welcoming my little princess into the world. :)  Then a little farther out, my other soon-to-be sister-in-law is getting married. Her and her fiance seem to be so alike. They both are very grounded in their faith. And hopefully, many more new additions to the ever growing family. :)

The only thing missing in the many joyous events to come, is my hunny. Unfortunately this is one of those things that comes with being in a relationship with a military man. However, I wouldn't change anything because my hunny is following his dreams, and I couldn't be more proud of him. He has given up a lot (like every other military members), but he has also gained a lot.

Day 5 of Thankful November
I am Thankful for my friends. My friend group has changed over the past 3 years, but I wouldn't change a thing about it. I have a few friends from back when I was in high school, but I also have made new friendships. Friends are an important part of my life, but I consider my friends to be more like family, than just a friend. So I am thankful for all of my friends I've had in my life. Whether we were friends for a few months or friends for years, each friend has changed me or made me a better person.

First Monday of November

As Mondays are usually horrible, and everyone seems to dislike them. I am starting to understand more and more as to why it is a very disliked day of the week. But remember, one kind word can change a person's day.

I spent the day working on my baby girl's scrap book. I am so glad that I have been working on it as everything comes at me, versus having to do it all at once. :) So excited for everyone at the shower to see it, and I am so excited for the shower on Saturday.

Well today was a boring day. It rained all day so it prevented me from going out and doing any of the much needed raking. I'd normally say hopefully tomorrow, but it's supposed to rain and snow all day tomorrow. I am not ready for snow yet. I really enjoy snow, but I hate the cold that comes with it.

Day 4 of Thankful November
I am thankful for Family. Family to me isn't just blood relatives. Family to me is a group of people that like each other and look out for each other over a long period of time. My family is blood and long life friends. My family is continuing to grow and expand and is ever changing as new people are added to the family.
I am thankful for family because without them in your life, you don't have another to share your achievements and also share your struggles.

November 3rd, 2013

Second day to the first weekend of November

After turning back the clocks and getting to sleep in an extra hour today, I still woke at 7 am (would've been 8 am without the rollback) but it feels way too early to me.

I spent the day lounging around and enjoying some cuddle time with my boxer, Angel. :) She definitely loves cuddling with my ever growing baby bump.

My mom and I worked on baby's scrap book today. I started it soon after finding out I was pregnant. So far this little princess has been to more places than I had been to at that age. :)  I am so excited to continue working on it through out her life. Especially since her daddy will be deployed for almost the whole first year of her life. So I plan to take a lot of pictures and videos, and I plan to write down everything I can about her everyday. So my hunny can at least see everything that she's been through day to day.

Day 3 of Thankful November
I am thankful for all of the heartbreak in my life, both by family and by significant others. Heartbreak can occur in a lot of ways, but the best way to explain it is that it is the emotions felt after the end of a romance, grief or disappointment. Every time the heart gets broken, it gives the heart a chance to come back stronger and a little less breakable. Each of us has heartbreak in our life, and we will probably feel heartbreak in one form or another for the rest of our life, but I am thankful for that heartbreak because it makes an individual stronger and more resilient.

November 2nd, 2013

Hello to the First weekend in November

Today was my goddaughter/niece's 1st birthday party. Everything was mini mouse and was so adorable. I cannot believe how fast a year goes. Her birthday party was so much fun and it was so amazing to see the amount of love in one place at one time. It made me realize that love comes from all sorts of people, even in the most unlikely of places.

My soon-to-be sister-in-law got engaged today. Her and her boyfriend (now fiance) were out camping and he popped the question on the edge of a river. They are both the outdoorsie type so it fits who they are. Everyone knew the proposal was coming, and I am excited to be part of an ever growing family. (My hunny is one of 6, 3 of which are already married, 1 who is already engaged & getting married Dec. 21st, my hunny we are getting married Jan. 4th, and now a newly engaged member who plans on getting married in late next fall). So my hunny and I will be the last ones in the family to get engaged, however we will not be the last ones to wed or have a baby.

My baby girl is continuing to use her mom as a punching bag, however, I enjoy it because it means she is healthy and growing stronger. My little princess will be the 2nd granddaughter to my hunny's family and the 5th grandchild, and in my family, she will be the first grandbaby, great grandbaby, and great great grandbaby.

So many things I wish I could share with my hunny on a daily basis, and I plan on sharing this blog with him while he is deployed, so that he can keep updated on family things, and our little princess.

Day 2 of Thankful November
I am thankful for all the love I've had in my life. Love comes from all sorts of people, family, friends, significant others, even random strangers show acts of love. So whether you are having a good day or a bad day remember to love thy neighbor and to love thy self.

November 1st, 2013

Goodbye October, and Hello November.

The end to another month has come. Which means I am another month closer to having my hunny home safe with me.
27 weeks pregnant with our first little one and we are expecting a girl :)

Today was a regular day of working with my nanny family ( 5 year old boy and a year old set of twin girls).

My unborn little princess is kicking up a storm and is soon to be leaving bruises on the outside of my tummy. She is definitely more active at night as soon as her mommy lays down to sleep than another other time.

My hunny is off training somewhere, and I have no idea when he'll be able to talk to me again. Unfortunately this is what I have to look forward to for the next year. Limited communication and little to no knowledge of anything. I guess that's how the military life works. Oh well I didn't choose this life.

I fell in love with a man who was perfect for me in every way, who is my soul mate, best friend, and now more than ever, my hero. He just happened to join the military, so like everything in life, you adapt to it. It's not ideal, but it is what is. He's following his dream and I couldn't be more proud of that.

Day 1 of Thankful November:
I am thankful for my faith. I am a born and raised Catholic, however, I was raised that "God gave man choice" and to accept everyone as they are no matter what. My faith might not be as clear cut as some but my faith is my own. I have faith in a higher power, and that God has a plan for all of us.
